Ah, another year (maybe two?), another entry. More ramblings. I've been wanting to compile the list of games that I've completed so far, across the various systems/consoles. A couple of years back, this list would be pretty thin.. Not now though. =)

Pre Compaq Presario
Can't remember much. Most notably were the Microsoft Best Of Entertainment Pack. All I can remember was the puzzle game Chips Challenge although I don't think I've even completed 15% of it.

Compaq Presario Pentium MMX
Most games played here are more sandbox type ie Championship Manager, The Sims, and the various RTS that I was so in to back in the late 90s. The closest that I ever came to completing a game was Commandos (Behind Enemy Lines). Got stuck at the 3rd last level. Pity. Game is currently out on GOG right now and so tempted to get it to settle some unfinished business.

Various Laptops (In Between Presario & Packard Bell)
The Presario eventually got obsolete. Good games or even the old ones didn't run well on it. So my fix on games is satisfied by playing on the various laptops that were available around the house which were mostly generally more powerful. This is when I completed Half-Life. I've played this game once in the Presario and got stuck at the very 1st level. Few years later (around 4+ years that is), I got around to playing it again. Boy, was it AWESOME! Till now, I still think it's the best video game I've ever played. FIRST EVER VIDEO GAME COMPLETED!

Packard Bell Pentium 4
This computer is mostly shared in the house. Again, it's a decent system, but limited to older games. Didn't play much games on this system, but I did get a taste of sweet multiplayer through DOTA (WC3) and Diablo 2. I managed to complete the latter on this PC. Spent lots of hours on it here as well =P Well, IIRC I completed Peggle Deluxe here too.

Xbox
First ever console that I bought. Well, it was solely for the purpose of Halo 2. Ironically, I didn't get to complete that game. UNBELIEVABLE. Disc was corrupted at the very final stage. But it did fill my time in NS nicely. All those time stuck in camp, this console accompanied me well. There are quite a number of games completed here..

Wiki-ed Power Rangers;

Plot sequence

A normal Power Rangers episode can be broken down into a formulaic plot. The plot sequence is generally as follows:

1. Rangers are seen in everyday life with a dispute to resolve.

2. Rangers are attacked by an evil foe's minions/footsoldiers.

3. Rangers fight minions/footsoldiers.

4. Rangers morph.

5. Rangers defeat the minions/footsoldiers.

6. Evil enemy strengthens the minion and makes minion grow to gigantic proportions, followed by Rangers summoning giant machines known as Zords and/or their combined form, the Megazord.

Optional 1: Rangers find that their current powers are insufficient to defeat minion and discover a new power, such as a Battlizer, or a sixth Ranger.
Optional 2: Rangers find or receive new Zord/s, new Megazord or Megazord combo.
Optional 3: Friends or allies show up to offer help or support.

7. Rangers fight and defeat that particular giant minion.

8. Rangers are shown back in everyday life, having learned a life lesson which solves the earlier dispute.

Ok, so the latest NDP songs (Two of them!) has been out for quite a while. But this one has really, really caught my ears (and eyes!). Can't really beat the classics (ie One People, Stand Up, We Are Singapore etc etc) but by far the best contemporary since 1999's Together (brings back boarding memories)..

My take on this vid? Why this post? For one who's not really the patriotic type (ie not die hard NDP/Lions/PAP/chewing-gum ban fan), I find the video well made. Anyway (hehe. Ellen. She's soo funny), NDP's around the corner. All 5 aspects of the Total Defence portrayed. Malays are not only portrayed through weddings (so common with previous national songs; now replaced by an interracial one. *two thumbs up!*).

Rozzalina Ramli's hubby in a construction worker's outfit is a nice touch. Pity Fiona Xie/Joanne Peh aren't known for their singing. They certainly make good candidates to front the song instead;) Last but not least, the guy in the business suit is THE BOMB! He almost single-handedly brought up the vid's show-worthiness!

Oh btw, found this comment in youtube as well. Interesting take on the lyrics..

So, the break has been quite eventful. Getting to meet comrades after a year's hiatus, watching 2 blockbuster movies, soccer almost every week, and I even managed to finish 3 books (discounting graphic novels + manga).. So, I've no right to complain.

So, comments on some of the above-mentioned stuff I did?
Transformers was surprisingly GOOD! No doubt about that. Great casting. Shia was at his aloofness best, Megan at her sluttiest etc. Only qualm is my fav Hound's not part of the gig. Well, you can't have everything. All in all, it's a good pure-action movie since it's not wrapped up in Van Damme/Seagal/Schwarzenegger corniness. Totally DVD buy-worthy=)

On to Herr Potter and the concluding chapter of his adventure. Total disappointment. JK Rowling revealed that there will be deaths. Sure.. An owl, few minor characters here & there, some order members and hary potter who as it turns out come back from the dead etc. Verdict: Disney should buy the rights to this film. Full of "candy-coated, good will always prevail, bad guys will acknowledge the error of their ways and return to goodness". Bleargh. Plus the words "bitc*" & "bastar*" that I found in this children's book further enhanced(vocab?) my distaste for the book. Third book still rules in terms of content=)

As for my personal life, I actually went to Kino 4x this week. I can't believe it! (I didn't realize this until Hatz told me a while ago..) Aww man.. I really have to have the guts to buy that particular book that I really really want. Beautiful title. Gorgeous cover. If only I could start reading its contents. Even if the book's reserved, asking for its availability should be worthwhile.
Then again, this is my heart talking. My brain speaks Kurdish.

haven't really updated anything, and i've never expected any audience either. so this will be a little self note on an interesting little info on my bdate-sake. interesting. seems that there is a little hockey in me all this while. gonna start retraining soon, cuz this is wad best describe me right now...

btw some friends will be going for sea games hockey tournament, and i seriously wish them all the best! the federation aims for silver, but heck, go for gold guys!

Haha.. Well, not really. Newspaper to be exact. Mandy's featured in Straits Times Urban section as one of the top 30 Best Dressed Females.

In the article:

Hello.. Well, my last official post here was dated waaay back in July I guess.. I've been concentrating more on my other blog, a combined team blog "esmscc" where I helped create, organise and now self-appoint as mod;P

Now, back to this blog! No more overkill cheesy talk about manga n Japanese stuff etc.. No more poseur German headings crap. Ok, not so much crap, I like the language. So uber manly;) No more blogger.com cookie-cutter templates..

New stuff, bells & whistles that you readers can find here;

New template (duh!)
Updated profile (not so much)
New tagboard (and certainly improved!)
A music player (which I'll feature a fancied song in that period)
A clean slate on posts

Very importantly, I need to acknowledge the original creator of the template which I got from blogskins.com. His/her nick's Sheepo or something.. FYI, I juz took most of the basics from his/her creation, which was orignally all orange and main pix was a sheep, and tweaked it to suit my own. Black background, different sidebar configurations and certainly the centerpiece pix (which I can safely say I'm proud of by using 3 different applications and figured how to post it up on the blog). Cut short, I'd like to thank him/her for letting me use mainly the color config & the cursor scripts=)

Well, what to expect from posts here? I don't know! Lessons learnt from previous posts as well as critiques from close friends have shown that they are plain boring. Well, no complains here, since I accept criticisms just fine. Posting frequency will certainly be inconsistent as I'll be more inclined to post in the esmscc blog.. I'll try to make the contents more..personal? Maybe in your face is the term here.. Let me defend my "in my own words" title up there. Well, I was sleepy and making the header pix was getting kinda frustrating. So, it was rushed. But I'll try hold true to it. I'll try, I'll try..

For the pilot entry (sort of), I'd juz like to share this South Park episode on WoW.. Those youtube addicts probably have seen it, but still.. Videos in blog can never go wrong.. You have to wait patiently while it loads. Maybe a soothing melody of sway while you wait. It's from one of my all time fav movies American Pie=)

Btw, I foresee comments on how this template is too "scroll heavy". Well, I have to agree, scrolling down to find earlier posts n the tagboard may prove to be downright annoying. BUT, I like the way how the blog loads up to the so-called artwork that I've made.. Maybe improvements can be made next time when I learn how to integrate buttons & anchors to the background. Cut a HTML noob some slack k..
